Rail Road Excavator The rail-road excavator is an excavator used for work on or near railways. It is used to carry out earthworks from the railway track, but also to lift heavy loads.
On tracks or on tires, rail-road excavators benefit from a direct rail hydrostatic drive which allows them to work on a railway track. The excavator moves on the railroad tracks by two rail axles, which are raised when traveling on an adjacent road. Its rail speed can reach between 20 and 30 km / h.
The rail-road excavator can be equipped with various accessories: pallet fork, bucket, clamshell, or even grapple to handle railway sleepers.
