PC26E-6: Komatsu’s electric mini excavator
Komatsu is adding a new model to its range of electric mini excavators currently marketed in Europe. Named the PC26E-6, it is part of the manufacturer’s third wave of launches on the continent.
An alternative to limit polluting emissions
To continue its growth, Komatsu must support professionals seeking low- or even zero-emission solutions. High-performing electric machines represent a credible alternative, provided that obstacles related to range and charging infrastructure are overcome. The features and capabilities of the PC20E, PC26E and PC33E models meet this need.
These mini excavators are equipped with a battery that can be recharged using a standard power supply, avoiding the need for a complex system. Their compact size enables them to operate efficiently on confined job sites. The absence of exhaust emissions also allows them to work in restricted areas, in urban environments and indoors. For the comfort of the operator and the surrounding environment, these machines also feature a noise reduction system and a vibration damping device.

To support the development of the range on the European market, the manufacturer is offering warranty extensions. These notably include the “E-Support” package, which now provides coverage for all new components of the machines’ electrical system.
Although no official announcement has yet been made, Komatsu is expected to further expand its series of electric mini excavators in the coming months. To support its environmental targets by 2030 (halving its current emissions), the brand may also add high-efficiency diesel machines or equipment using hybrid technology.
