Cat 6015: mining hydraulic excavators evolve
The Cat 6015 mining hydraulic excavator is powered by an 824 hp (615 kW) engine and promises maximum availability.
New 2026 generation
The new Caterpillar 6015 excavator features the latest generation of pilot pump. Its configuration now allows it to deliver a variable hydraulic oil flow depending on demand. When in motion, the excavator benefits from a higher flow rate, which decreases when there is no activity. This operating mode improves energy efficiency (a 5% gain) while extending component life thanks to reduced heat generation. Float valves have replaced the traditional hydraulic pumps, accelerating boom lowering movements. Freed from this task, the latter can now supply other components. In total, four pumps equip the Cat 6015. One is dedicated to swing operations, while the other three handle travel and work tools. A system designed by Caterpillar regulates pressure and automatically distributes flow when multiple demands occur.
Ease of maintenance
Maintenance operations are simplified by quick access to the main mechanical components. They are also made safer thanks to non-slip walkways. As an option, a 45° powered staircase can also be added. Highly stressed components, such as the undercarriage or track shoes, benefit from improvements designed to increase durability. The fleet manager can monitor the condition of each excavator via the MineStar Health solution. Maintenance technicians rely on Cat Electronic Technician to carry out remote monitoring, interventions, and diagnostics.
