New options for Liebherr Generation 8 excavators

Liebherr continues to enhance the Generation 8 of its crawler excavators. Models R 922 to R 945 G8 are being equipped with new options designed to optimise their productivity.

Liebherr Power Efficiency

A new patented system is now available on Liebherr crawler excavators. Known as LPE (Liebherr Power Efficiency), this mode contributes to improved energy management. It continuously acts on the hydraulic circuit and the diesel engine, resulting in a significant reduction in fuel consumption (up to 10% savings compared with previous generations) without compromising performance. The system stores the operator’s individual setting preferences. It is also capable of accelerating certain movements while improving their precision. In addition, the manufacturer has developed a urea filling pump. Currently without equivalent on the market and allowing refilling from ground level, it limits the risks associated with improper handling (overflow, pollution, corrosion, etc.) or falling.

Assistance and safety

New assistance systems are now available as standard. This is the case, for example, with the Bucket Fill Assist (BFA) solution, which improves excavation cycles through automatic bucket filling. The operator also benefits from real-time display of load data on the main in-cab screen, thereby avoiding any risk of overloading.

Skyview 360° technology guarantees panoramic visibility in all circumstances. Relying on four high-quality heated cameras (wide-angle, high resolution, etc.), it eliminates blind spots, offers several views (including a bird’s-eye view) and features a function capable of detecting the presence of obstacles.
