Komatsu Europe strengthens its distribution in the United Kingdom
Komatsu Europe has announced a major evolution of its commercial organization in the United Kingdom. The group plans to modify the structure of its distribution network in order to support its development strategy in this market. This change is expected to take place in early 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
Distribution transfer planned for 2026
The distribution activities currently carried out by Marubeni-Komatsu Ltd. (MKL) in the United Kingdom will be taken over by McHale Plant Sales Ltd. From January 2026, the company will operate under the name McHale Komatsu and will be responsible for the sale, distribution and after-sales service of Komatsu construction and utility equipment across the entire UK territory. McHale Plant Sales is already an official distributor of the brand in Ireland. The stated objective is to ensure continuity for British customers, with access to Komatsu equipment, services and technologies, while relying on strengthened local expertise.
Acquisition of MKL and Komatsu’s entry into the share capital
As part of this transition, McHale Plant Sales will acquire MKL, thereby consolidating its operational presence in the United Kingdom. To support this step and ensure the stability of the new entity, Komatsu Europe will take a minority stake in McHale Plant Sales.
