Komatsu: new options for the WA170M-11 wheel loader
After recently developing a new model of compact wheel loader, Komatsu has now equipped it with several options designed to increase its versatility.
Choice of loader linkages
Presented at Bauma 2025, the WA170M-11 loader features a Stage V engine delivering a maximum power of 96 kW. It is currently available for order. Series production has not yet begun. It will start after a testing phase intended to ensure total reliability. A 500-hour programme under real operating conditions has thus started. The machine is being tested by several of the manufacturer’s partners, including Kompostwerk Hellefelder Höhe GmbH, a site specialised in recycling organic waste. The data collected is analysed in real time to speed up the development of fixes.
For a few days now, customers interested in the Komatsu WA170M-11 can choose between two loader linkage options. They can also add the Timber configuration—usually found on larger machines—to the standard Z-kinematics.
Safety of operations
Early feedback has highlighted several advantages of the compact wheel loader. Users emphasise the machine’s stability, even on difficult terrain. They also appreciate its manoeuvrability and the simplicity and responsiveness of its controls, allowing for maximum productivity. The comfort of its cab has also been noted. It offers a spacious environment with numerous storage compartments. It is also equipped with glazing that ensures perfect 360° visibility.
