Game of Cranes 2025: the top 5 crane operators in the final
Game of Cranes, the competition organized by Liebherr to crown the world’s most efficient mobile crane operator, is coming to an end. The final stage will take place in Ehingen (Germany) next November.
Practical and theoretical challenges
More than 200 professionals from around the globe confirmed their participation. After reviewing all applications, Liebherr invited twenty-five of them to take part in the first phase, which determined the finalists. This phase was held in five different regions (North America, South America, Australia, Europe, and Africa–Middle East–Asia).
Participants had to demonstrate skill and precision in two practical tests. The first involved parking a Remote Drive BTT-E as quickly as possible in a confined space. In the second, the operator had to move a concrete block along a course. The load was attached to a chain that had to remain in constant contact with the ground. Theoretical knowledge was also tested (operation manual, selection of lifting accessories, calculation of physical forces).
Five finalists for Ehingen
At the end of the first phase, the Game of Cranes organizers highlighted the high performance level of the participants. They expect new achievements in Ehingen from the five qualified operators. Nick Jackman, from Mountain Crane, won the American stage in Newport News. He will compete against Leonardo Navarro (WWN Guindastes), Scott White (City Lifting), Kirk Smith (Titan Cranes NZ), and Joey Fisher (Johnson & Young Cranes), winners respectively in Guaratinguetá (Brazil), Azuqueca de Henares (Spain), Dammam (Saudi Arabia), and Adelaide (Australia).
