A new versatile crawler excavator by Liebherr : the R 918

Liebherr introduces their latest product from their crawler excavator range. It is the R 918. This one, with a weight between 19 and 22 tons, is ideal for levelling work, digging tranches or pipe laying.

    A spacious driving area

In order to guarantee an optimum productivity rate on your construction site, the Liebherr engineers have equipped their new R 918 crawler excavator with a spacious, ergonomic and air-conditioned cab. With rear and lateral cameras, tha cab has a panoramic vision that helps the operator work safely. The use of this crawler excavator will be made easier thanks to the commands being available from an easy to use, 7'' tactile high resolution screen.

    A new engine

The R 918 will have a new engine developping 163hp, meeting the requirements of the latest European norms regarding emissions of exhaust gas. The engine is also equipped with an urea injection SCR system and an oxidation catalyst. There is an optional automatic idle-stop when the engine is inactive.

    Easier maintenance

Different conception tricks have been used to reduce the maintenance budget. Indeed, all the maintenance points (level and filling of engine oil for instance) are accessible from the ground. The track rollers have been greased and the automatic lubrification will be available without additional fee. This will help increase the productivity on construction sites while keeping the maintenance budget manageable.
