    Intermat 2015 : chronicle of an announced international recovery

    For its 10th edition, the international exhibition experienced a slight decrease in the attendance but an increase in exhibitor's number, believing in the future recovery of the sector.

    From April 20 to 25 in Paris, Intermat confirmed its international attractiveness by having all the main actors of the construction industry of the EMEA (Europe, Middle-east, Africa).

    With 183.000 visitors, the exhibition experienced a decrease of 8,5% in comparison with 2012, record year in terms of visitors. The 1410 exhibiting companies were 5% more than during the previous edition.

    « Renewed confidence » for the construction industry

    Among the 35% of foreign visitors from 169 countries, the exhibition had some important guests : ambassadors from Turkey and the UAE, as well as the official delagation from Algeria. The visitors' quality has been highlighted by most exhibitors : a lot of them wanting to invest in projects with some being realised at the exhibition.

    « Intermat has been the trigger for an announced international recovery », said Maryvonne Lanoë, at the end of the exhibition. The energy of this 10th edition of  « gave a renewed confidence to all the industry's actors » according to her.

    Launch of a hundred new products

    Intermat 2015 was also important for machine manufacturers, construction material manufacturers and engineering system designers to launch their innovations internationally : more than 100 innovations have been showcased on the exhibitors' booths.

    Construction equipment manufacturers have also unveiled their latest models of excavators, dumpers, loaders or de rollers. The best innovations were awarded the « Innovation Award » in January 2015 during the Pre-Intermat in Paris (see box).

    An unseen international display for concrete

    Finally, apart from the networking, this exhibition brought together industry's experts through workshops and conferences about concrete, renting, demolition, conterfeiting or distributors in the EMEA zone.

    Alongside Intermat, the World of Concrete of Las Vegas, dedicated to the concrete sector, come to Europe for the first time, offers an unseen international display and new profit for visitors.

      - World of Concrete Europe award : Tekla for Tekla Structures (model-based software for construction)

      - Silver award : Mecalac for the M-Connect quick coupler
    • Judge's special award : Bridgend Extrusion Ltd for K-Form
