An unusual experience
For Matthew Lucas, JCB's pilot, that was an exciting project and he easily reached this incredible record. In front of the world's record judges at Bathurst's airport, near Sydney, the JCB GT backhoe loader has officialy entered the Guinness World Records for the fastest speed achieved by a backhoe loader.
JCB GT backhoe loader characteristics
Manufactured for the first time in England in 1988, the JCB GT backhoe loader is nowadays the most sold model in the world for 15 years.
Made out of glass fibre andaluminium, it was specially made to nose up to high speed and already proved its speed along side dragsters in the USA.
It has a loader in the front and a backhoe dig. It also has a light steel chassis to improve aerodynamics and is equipped with a JCB FASTRAC's rear axle.
