Sand Washer - Washer Wheel The washer wheel, also known as a sand washer, is a machine used in mines, quarries and hydroelectric power stations to rid sand of its impurities. The sand is first cleaned and then dehydrated.
The variable diameter bucket wheel, driven by a belt, is placed in a tank. The sand and water are transported to the tank by a feeder. Water and impurities are drained away, while the sand is loaded into the wheel buckets to be stirred and then dehydrated before being discharged into a chute.
