The anti fire system for Cat machines

Now Caterpillar offers anti-fire systems directly installed on some mining machines. This new feature saves time for clients and gives them a better quality material.

The anti-fire system on several Cat machines

For the moment this safety feature is installed on the D10T2 bulldozer and the 777G dumper. In the future, Caterpillar wants to install this equipment on every machines such as the D11T bulldozer.

The Caterpillar and ANSUL (company specialising in fire protection) employees have worked together in order to optimise the feature's configurations.

The equipment is made of a detection system and the ANSUL Checkfire 210 trigger as well as a liquid extinguishing agent ANSUL LVS. This helps extinguish fires but also cools the heated surfaces on construction sites. Besides, this product suffocates and covers the fuel in order to reduce the oxygen content to extinguish the fire.

    A way to save time

This integrated anti-fire system offers reliability and durability to the Cat machines.

This new process also reduces the delivery times. Indeed, the machine will not have to be dismantled then put back together to add the anti-fire equipment and be efficient fast. For instance, with the setup of the equipment in factories, a D10T2 bulldozer is operational 3 days earlier.

A certification is necessary on the construction site by a ANSUL distributor after putting the machine into service.
