Getnord Onyx - Tested for you : the smartphone you will take anywhere with you
Working conditions are often demanding, especially on building sites. Therefore workers are more likely to use specific phones. Getnord is a GSM communication developer for demanding and hazardous environments. That is why we would like to know more about its Onyx model. In order to have a reliable professional feedback, we entrust this device to a construction worker.
Our staff member tested this smartphone in real working conditions.
A sturdy smartphone, ideal to work in demanding working conditions
As it looks, the Onyx Getnord is rugged. The brand has developed an aluminum and silicone alloy core to provide additional robustness to the phone. Thanks to its composition, the device is waterproof and metal-reinforced to endure a several-meter fall. Unlike what we may think when we look at it, the materials used actually reinforce the robustness of the phone and do not make it heavier.
According to the brand, the mobile phone is waterproof. Indeed, the device is watertight. Therefore, workers can perfectly use it outdoors during rainy days. Staff member let rains on it whitout any problems and for more than one hour.
The smartphone meets the IP68 standard which guarantees a 2-meter immersion for 30 minutes. It also meets the MIL-STD-810G standard which guartantees an impact resistance.
Finally, its Gorilla Glass 3 screen is scratch-resistant thanks to a tempered glass protector designed by the Japanese firm Asahi. If it is damaged, it can be easily replaced.
High Quality Photos
The smartphone’s 8-megapixel main camera, which can be set with several options, defines the good quality of images captured with the Onyx. Tests conducted proved that the quality of the images taken with the Onyx is better than those taken with any other specific professional mobile phone.
A bigger display for a greater visibility
The Getnord Onyx mobile phone remains light into the pocket despite of its size.
However, its large display of the smartphone allows workers to read reports and documents on the screen. Therefore, the Getnord Onyx represents a good alternative to professional tablets. This kind of display is optimal to read plans for site managers. They can zoom on the screen to reach details of the plans.
The Getnord Onyx distinguishes itself thanks to its design
At first sight the design seems to be attractive. Indeed, the device is aesthetically pleasing despite its of metal-reinforced clip. Its aluminum color gives to the Onyx a top of the range aspect.
"This smartphone is really pretty, more than other dedicated phones which seem to be less rugged than the Onyx", says staff member.
