CAT® S30 : the new Caterpillar smartphone

If Caterpillar is known for their construction equipments (excavators, loaders, etc.), the manufacturer isn't known for their phones. Yet, the CAT® smartphones have nothing to be shy about compared to other devices.

A robust phone

The CAT® S30 meets the American Mil-Spec norms, which concern shock resistance and falls. For instance, the phone can fall from 1.80 metres without being damaged. Its double design is sculpted to be skid-proof and is perfect for outside conditions. Indeed, the device has a tactile screen and real buttons to satisfy those who use a smartphone for the first time and for construction equipment profesionnals. Ergonomic, it adapts perfectly to the palm of the user and thus reduces the falling risks. Moreover, the CAT® S30 is certified according to the IP68 (water resistance) and can be used with wet fingers or gloves, with the Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 tactile screen. Its sturdiness, as well as its resistance to dust, oil and grease doesn't take anything away from its performances since this phone combines all the characteristics of a common smartphone. Working with Android, it is 4G compatible. Contrary to other devices, its long term battery works for 12h in conversation and up to 19 days on standby.

A smartphone range dedicated to professionals

In 2014, Caterpillar launched the CAT® S50 using Android (4.4) with quad core processor. Specially designed for the outdoors (montains, construction sites, etc.), it is resistant to cold, humidity, heat and dirt without altering its performances. Indeed, its battery life is 16h in conversation and 33 days on standby and it can stock up to 8Go of data.
