The new Genie SX-150 telescopic boom on the European market

A branch of Terex Corporation specialised in lifting equipments, Genie manufacturer launched in April 2015 its new telescopic boom, the SX-150. Reinforcing the Super Boom range, the first models will be available in Europe this summer, specially for renting companies. The new SX-150 offers a 48 m working height, a horizontal coverage of 24,38 m and a loading capacity of 340 kg. At 36.6m high, its boom reaching 21.34m horizontally, the SX-150 is an efficient and economic alternative for truck solutions.

48 m high in less than 3 minutes

« This model is a versatile "workhorse" extremely resistant. A profitable choice in an intensive work environment », says Karen Stash, Global Product Management and Marketing at Genie Industries. The latest Genie telescopic boom benefits from the 15-year experience of the make in the big size model development, after the S-125 (40,15 m), the ZX-135 (43,15 m) and recently the SX-180 (56,86 m). It reaches its height of 48 m in 3 minutes.

A boom adapted to urban construction sites

Like the previous ones, the SX-150 boom of 23 tonnes is equipped with an XChassis, offering an important stability at extreme heights, while keeping compact dimensions to transport it on a standard trailer. This conception allows it to be installed quickly on construction sites. It is partucularly adapted to urban construction sites, construction activities, maintenance, telecommunications, refinery, chemical maintenance, aeolian parks, bridge inspections or stadium constructions.

4 programmable platform height configurations

« The Genie SX-150 precisely meets the demand of renting companies for heights between 30 and 48 m », says Phil Graysmark, VP Sales at Genie Industries. The boom offers 4 programmable platform height configarations (30,5 m, 36,6 m, 41,2 m and 46 m), offering renting companies the possibility to apply a flat-rate depending on the height in order to optimise the use.

« The SX-150 can lift 2 operators and numerous tools to accomplish tasks which, until now, needed several machines», adds the director. A combined generator of 7,5 kW fuels the tools in electricity, including the soldering equipments.

Easy maintenance and on-board fleet management software

Like the other Genie products, the SX-150 has an easy maintenance, thanks to a key access to all the distributors, a motor unit on sliding top, hydraulic filters easily accessible, a dismantable filter integrated in the tank and hydraulics lines making possible to replace the hoses in one piece. Moreover, the boom roll-out system integrates a cylinder and a cable cartridge can be maintained and changed in record time.

Finally, this new Genie telescopic boom is equipped with a on-board fleet management software with the tracing feature Trackunit, connected to a universal connector. This on-board technology offers numerous management fleet and safety features : hour counter, GPS, use analysis, geographical scope, move alarm and long distance deactivation.
