Komatsu Europe launches the new PC210/LC-11hydraulic excavator model
The Japanese construction equipment manufacturer introduces its new model of PC210/LC-11 hydraulic excavator model, equipped with a Stage IV engine
This new model of Komatsu track excavator allows the make to ensure its position as a leader in terms of technology and innovation. Its new Stage IV eco engine increases the fuel efficiency by up to 6%. The PC210/LC-11 maximizes its productivity and reduces operating costs.
Manufactured out of the same technology than the Stage IIIB engines, the Stage IV engines from Komatsu are productive, reliable and efficient. With a power of 123 kW (165 HP) with 2 000 tr/min and operating weights between 22.1 and 23.6 tonnes, the PC210/LC-11 has the same performance than the previous Komatsu models. Vince Porteous, product manager at Komatsu Europe International says : « This new excavator not only meet the pollution norm requirements : its offers significant progress in fuel consumption, has 3G communications, improves the operator's comfort and safety ».
Main characteristics of the PC210/LC-11 Komatsu excavator
The new Stage IV engine includes the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) to reduce the nitrogen oxide emissions by using AdBlue®. Equipped with an advanced electronic system that regulates the air movement, the fuel injection, the combustion parameters and the post-processing features, the Komatsu Stage IV engines maximizes the performances while reducing the emissions and provide advanced diagnostic regarding the machine's capacity. The users benefit from a reduced consumption that doesn't impact the machine's performances. Komatsu also integrated its Variable Geometry Turbocharger (KVGT), an EGR gas flow, as well as an air management system to expand the life span of its components.

To ensure the reliability and durability of the product in demanding environments, Komatsu developped a complete system. It includes an important control software for an efficient use of the exhaust gas post treatment.
Improved capacities
The PC210/LC-11 has a very resistant chassis and still has the same lifting capacity as well as the same side stability than the previous PC210 model. The operator can easily select the «Lift » mode to increase the hydraulic pressure and the lifting force up to 7%.
Improvements have been brought to the system to reduce the hydraulic loss and increase the efficiency. All major componenets of the new PC210/LC-11 (engine, hydraulic pump and valves) are exclusively designed and manufactured by Komatsu. This integrated design uses a load sensing system, which adapts to the machine's speed. This technology allows the machine to adjust its speed depending on the hydraulic pump output.
The operator's enviromnent
The cab certified ROPS, specially made for hydraulic excavators, is more resistant thanks to a reinforced box in the structure. The heated seat with standard pneumatic suspension is now equipped with two adjustable armrests, in order to improve the operator's comfort. The large screen (7 inches), in colour and in HD, has improved capacities and displays information in 26 languages. The operator can easily select up to 6 work modes in order to adapt to the machine's use. The new control panel gives lots of indications on the vehicle's use, for instance a history of the fuel consumption.
