The latest generation of wheeled loaders at Intermat 2015

Following the new excavators' panorama, let's take a look at new wheeled loaders displayed at Intermat.

Despite the noticeable absence of Caterpillar, construction equipment manufacturers will be at Intermat, which will take place in Paris from April 20 to 25, 2015. Among the exhibited materials, the wheeled loaders have the leading role with models equipped with the latest technologies.

This new generation of loaders have several things in common : fuel efficient engines, ergonomimc commands, comfortable cabs, monitoring software of the machine, easy maintenance with pieces close together… Let's take a look at them with Volvo, Hyundai and Mecalac.

Volvo CE's new series H loaders

Volvo Construction Equipment will show its new series H wheeled loaders with the L60H (12 t), L70H (13 t) and L90H (15 t). Equipped with Stage 4 engines of 123 kW, 127 kW and 137 kW, these new models are more powerful, have an engine torque and an hydraulic flow higher than the previous models while being energy efficient. Moreover, an Eco gas pedal with a back pression mecanism informs the operator when he is about to enter a less efficient operating range.

These new models offer the operator good bucket roll-back angles and a better stability with a larger wheel base.

In the cab, the AC and temperature control are paired with an innovative filtration system from Volvo, that recycles 90% of the cab air and eliminate the dust continually.  The machines maintenance is easier with a bonnet that access all the engine's maintenance points.

The Hyundai HL955 and HL960 loaders

Hyundai Heavy Industries Europe (HHIE) will introduce the first two models of its new range of wheeled loaders, the  HL955 and HL960. Equipped with new Cummins engines , combining the EGR and SCR technologies and meeting the Stage 4 norm requirements, they use 10% less fuel.

The design and conception of these new models have been completele redesigned  : the two lateral apertures have been enlarged for a better air circulation to the engine, the lights are more resistant and the bucket has been improved. The cabs are better soundproofed. Finally, the operator has a 7'' screen to watch the way the engine operates, the fuel consumption, the hydraulic control and the Intelligent Clutch Cut-off.

The Mecalac AS1600 loader

The French manufacturer will introduce the AS1600, its new rigid chassis loader. Equipped with a Deutz turbo diesel engine of 90 kW, it meets the Stage 3B emission norm requirements.  Its engine is maintenance free, in all situations and all environmental conditions. Like the other Mecalac loaders, the AS1600 can activate the « swing » equipment that allows the machine to turn and transport a load at the same time without losing stability. With a 180° turning radius, it is ideal to work in confined spaces.

The anti-swaying system allows the loader to transport the filled out bucket on damaged terrain without losing material while the operator doesn't feel any vibration. In the cab, which has the AC and large storage spaces, all the driving commands are integrated into the joystick. The loader's data are analysed by the Mecadiag system, which ensures a fast maintenance of the machine.
