New Komatsu HM300-5 articulated dumper: a connected dumper for the European market

After its presentation a few months ago at the ConExpo exhibition in Las Vegas, Japanese manufacturer Komatsu launched their new model of articulated dumper on the European market. The HM300-5, follows the HM300-3, is equipped with an engine meeting the European Stage IV requirements (it measures the nitrogen oxides and particles amounts coming from engines ranging from 19 to 560 kW).

A developed technology for increased productivity

The HM300-5 is equipped with the latest Komtrax, distance management system where you can look the dumper's data on the internet or your smartphone. The operator can look at the fuel level, the use duration, the maintenance alert or the machine's geographical location. The new Komtrax features help prevent fuel theft with special alarms, watch the AdBlue level or be alerted when the particle filter must be changed.

The cab certified ROPS/FOPS Level-2 is bigger and offers a better visibility in comparison with the previous version. The dashboard has a 7' LCD screen that displays control information and has the Eco Guidance, measures the useful load indicated bu the manufacturer.

EU Stage IV engine: improves efficiency

The engine, meeting the Stage IV european requirements, has the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) and EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) technologies and works with AdBlue injection, which reduces the polluting particle emissions. The fuel consumption is reduced.

Komatsu has also equipped its new dumper with the K-TCS (Komatsu Traction Control System) automatic traction system that automatically locks the differential when the road gets difficult. The automatic K-Atomics (Komatsu Advanced Transmission with Optimum Modulation Control System) 6-gear transmission guarantees the engine's efficiency by selecting the ideal gear and getting rid of the chocks from the gear change and torque losses.
