The self-compensating articulated steering developed by Volvo provides its new dump trucks with perfect stability and exceptional steering force. The Volvo dump trucks are also equipped with differential locks. When engaged, all wheels rotate at the same speed, thus enabling the dumper to operate across difficult terrain. Yet another important function of the new Volvo dump trucks is the Automatic Traction Control (ATC). The ATC system automatically selects the right drive combination depending on the charge or the underfoot conditions, as a result reducing fuel consumption and tyre wear.
The key features of Volvo A25F and A30F
The 2 articulated dump truck models are equipped with an environment friendly 6-cylinder diesel engine that boasts low fuel consumption. Maximum power is 235 kW for the Volvo A25F and 265 kW for the A30F. The chassis is made of high strength steel, and its rotating hitch is 100% maintenance free. The A25F model has a carrying capacity of 24 tonnes (and a heaped capacity of 15m³). The load capacity of the A30F model is 28 tonnes (heaped capacity - 17.5m³).
