Trencher The trencher is a construction machine used to dig trenches in the ground. It is used for drainage operations, laying cables and pipes and laying pipelines. Trenchers are used to install and maintain gas, drinking water, electricity and sewerage networks.
There are three types of slicers: chain slicers, wheel slicers and micro-slicers. The chain trencher, usually on tracks, has a large working width thanks to its trenching chain. It benefits from an excavation mat to evacuate the rubble. The wheel trencher, also called a rock saw, is equipped with a large metal wheel with steel or tungsten carbide teeth. More manoeuvrable and faster than the chain trencher, it can be used in urban areas. The wheel trencher can have a tracked or wheeled frame. The micro slicers, also equipped with a slicing wheel, are used for small jobs in confined spaces.
