CFTS-accredited companies now searchable online

Created 01/13/2010, 09:02:50 am

CFTS chairman Simon Emery says since the accredited scheme was formed in 2002, there has been an exponential increase in the number of companies choosing CFTS-approved providers for their Thorough Examination needs.

Every forklift over 12 months old in the UK – including hire trucks - must hold a current report of Thorough Examination.

"Our member base has grown over the years with CFTS-accredited companies covering the length and breadth of the UK. Wherever you may be, you can rest assured that there are CFTS-accredited companies in your area," Emery says.

To locate a CFTS-accredited company, seekers enter a postcode and a search radius in the CFTS web-based company finder. The CFTS search engine will deliver the full contact details of companies in order of proximity. One can also search for companies by name.

CFTS is a collaboration formed between the two major materials handling trade associations in the UK – the Fork Lift Truck Association and the British Industrial Truck Association. It was established to administer the industry’s national accreditation scheme for Thorough Examination.

Developed in co-operation with the Health and Safety Executive, CFTS Thorough Examinations have been designed to address the needs of forklifts.
